2011 AMA winners in fashion (PHOTOS/VIDEO)

"The 2011 American Music Awards took place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles last night on Sunday, November 20th. To the surprise of some who thought that R&B powerhouse Adele would get the big win, country music superstar Taylor Swift took home the overall AMAs 2011 Artist of the Year Award.

Other big fan-voted 2011 AMA winners of the night included..."

Tampa consignment store fuses fashion and photography with new featured art

High-end fashion designers will tell anyone that creating clothing is about more than simply cutting cloth. Design is a creative process, and there is often as much art work in a piece of finished fabric as in an original painting. At Designer Consignment- Fresh Threads in Tampa, Florida, fashion is fused with photography with the incorporation of the store's new, featured works of art: six original canvas pieces by local Tampa photographer Marissa Moss.

The Designer Consignment- Fresh Threads Facebook page describes the six works of art, pictured in the slideshow to the left, as 'hovering beautifully over our pretty selection of dresses!'

2011 Fashion TV: Project Runway empire expands to accessories

"I have a confession, everyone: I love reality TV. I limit myself to a select handful of shows (if by handful you mean that I have extra fingers to hold on with), but I just can’t get enough of the amazing cake and culinary shows out there.

The show I love most of all, however, is not about cake, but about clothes, and it is a powerhouse in fashion TV here in the United States. This fashion TV reality competition easily out-sews and outshines the others. It is, of course, the number one name in fashion TV: Lifetime Television’s Project Runway."

Project Runway inspired fashion

"TAMPA- On and off the runway, contestants on Season 9 of the popular Lifetime Television show Project Runway know how to make it work. Between birdseed cocktail dresses and loud, safari-inspired silhouettes, the designers on the latest season were willing to make a statement with..."

Arts and Crafts Fairs in Tampa this November

"Fall weekends are often dominated by sports, from MLB, to NFL, to college football to, typically, the NBA pre-season. This year, why not add a little culture to the mix and take the family out to a Tampa art festival in November? While crafts and creativity might not take the place of a sports arena, fresh fair food is a good starting point for negotiations."

To decide which Tampa art festivals you want to attend in November, continue reading here.

Project Accessory: I approve

I was leery of a spinoff at first, but with such a similar concept and feel, it's hard to not be sucked in to this fun new twist on a classic.

"Project Runway, massively popular reality show staple and love child of Lifetime and Heidi Klum, has just completed a highly successful ninth season. Now, the DIY fashion empire embraces the smaller things in life with new show Project Accessory.

Project Accessory features 12 accessory designers, who represent the best of DIY fashion, as they compete in the familiar challenge format to win an InStyle feature spread and $100,000 from eBay Fashion to start their own line. And this time, a different leggy, gorgeous blonde former model delivers the famous last words 'You are out'"

Consignment stores offer perfect refuge for last night's Halloween costumes

"Doing the walk of shame in your bunny ears, cursing a too-tight corset, or simply sick of fidgeting with your child's too-small Spiderman costume?

Parents and party-crashers alike, rejoice! Going green is in.

Cast off your uncomfortable, your outgrown, your symbolically shameful garments and do a good deed by giving them another life in the process. If trends make a difference between an item trashed or an item saved, Mother Earth can breathe a sigh of relief, because saving the planet is cool once more."

[They're awesome costumes, but they won't fit forever. Let another kid enjoy the fun!]
